Summary

After a very long journey back from Poland, it was good to reflect back on our experiences over the last 12 days or so.  As Team Manager, I would like to wholeheartedly thank the entire team for making this year’s WC’s one to remember – by whole team I mean Wayne Osbourn, Jamie Cole, Summer Fisher & Ray Konstantinou as well as Duncan, Dave, Alex and Aaron.  Everyone worked so hard throughout the WC’s. we pulled together if anyone was feeling down, poked fun at each other and generally had each other’s backs just as a true team should.

Congratulations must go to Aaron for putting in 4 awesome flights and winning the title of 2017 Junior World F3N Champion. Aaron and Dave were very close to making it through to the fly-offs but this time round it wasn’t to be.  Alex, in his first F3N International competition did us proud by making the finals and coming in 9th overall.  And Duncan was as consistent as ever finishing in 6th place.  Although we drew with Germany on 26 points in the team standings, we came home with silver medals – not the Gold we were hoping for but still an incredible achievement.

Finally a big thank you must go to our sponsors, Optipower / Optifuel who made a generous donation to the team which helped tremendously in covering some of our costs to the attend the Championships.

There will be no European Championships in 2018 as no country came forward offering to host it.  We are however working hard to start a World Cup F3N Heli Series next year which will involve weekend long competitions in the UK, Germany & hopefully also Austria, Denmark and France.  This will be open to all F3N pilots throughout the world, not just those who are officially representing their countries.   I’ll keep everyone posted on our Facebook F3N UK page as details become available.
